The Amakhosi Youth Academy teams had a weekend of mixed results in their respective league competitions, returning a couple of victories, two defeats and a draw.
In the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC), Kaizer Chiefs reserves played to a 1-1 draw against Moroka Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday to remain in second place after seven rounds of the national Under 23 competition. They travel to KwaZulu-Natal for their next fixture, against Golden Arrows at the Chatsworth Stadium, south of Durban, on Saturday, 28 October, kicking off at 10:00.
Last Saturday also saw the penultimate round of the SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL), where Kaizer Chiefs took on Wits Juniors at The Village.
The Under 13s continued their unbeaten run through the campaign with a 3-1 win. This was followed by the Under 15s suffering their first loss of the season, going down 1-0. The Under 17s also fell to defeat by 2-1, before the Under 19s restored Amakhosi pride by winning 2-0 in the final game of the day.
This coming weekend will stage the final round of the GDL, with the Under 17s and Under 19s meeting TS Galaxy on Saturday, 28 October at ETS Sports Ground.
The following day, Sunday, 29 October, The Kaizer Chiefs Under 13 and Under 15 teams, already assured of winning their respective leagues, welcome their TS Galaxy counterparts to The Village for their final fixture and trophy presentation.
