Kaizer Chiefs Reserves romped home with a win over Chippa United Reserves in the Multichoice Diski Challenge match on Sunday morning. Arthur Zwane returned from International duty on a vengeance after his side went three games without a win. Two draws and defeat in the last three for Chiefs Reserves has not been pleasing Zwane and his troops.
They turned up in style on Sunday marauding and firing on all cylinders in a seven-goal thriller match that took place at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.
First, Rahim Milazi opened the flood gates in the 7th minute of the pulsating match. Lebohang Lesako made it two in the 33rd to make it 2-0 at the break.
Chiefs Reserves did not remove foot from the pedal in the second half. Kefiloe Mojaki scored in the 52nd minute to make it 3-0. Seven minutes later Milazi completed his brace of goals to make it 4-0 and give Chiefs Reserves a comfortable lead.
Chippa Resreves refused to go down without a fight and this they signaled with a 74th minute goal by Thulani Mini. Lesako pulled the plug out of Chippa’s lifeline completing his brace at the death.
Coach Zwane effected maximum changes bringing on Wandile Lerumo for captain Sabelo Radebe, goal poacher Keletso Sifama made way for midfield stabililiser Samkelo Zwane and talisman Rahim Milazi made way for energetic Mthokozisi Balakazi.
Chippa Reserves still would not give up with Crayton Snyman scoring during referee’s optional time. Final score 5-2.
The results see Chiefs reserves still at the tip of top-8 with 17 points from 11 matches
