Ernst Middendorp received a spell of good news on Friday morning after it became clear that midfielder Arthur Zwane and defender Patrick Mayo, were given the all clear by Amakhosi Physiotherapist David Milner to play against Golden Arrows in Saturday’s SAA Supa8 encounter.

Milner examined the pair on Friday and made the deduction after putting the players through physical examination, the Chiefs physiotherapist was happy with the outcome of the tests.

Commenting afterwards Milner said “Arthur is much better he picked up a knee injury in training on Wednesday and has improved significantly, Patrick too is looking good he had a hamstring spasm on Tuesday but he is fine now”. Milner further added that both players did not look in any kind of discomfort during Friday’s tests and he has given them the all clear to begin training with the rest of the team on Friday afternoon.

Amakhosi coach Ernst Middendorp welcomed the news saying “David informed me about this on Friday morning and obviously it is good for us to be have two of our senior players back for an important Cup game”. The coach further added “having more players to choose from is better that having limited options with the possibility of these guys being available I can now play around with my line-up a bit”.

In other news The Amakhosi are waiting to hear from Bloemfontein Celtic to see if they would like to take Lucky Mzizi on a season long loan. The twenty two year old midfielder has been in Bloemfontein since the start of the week, where he has been training with Celtic. According to Chiefs team manager Bobby Motaung The Amakhosi are waiting for word from Celtic if they are interested in keeping him for the season.

Ernst Middendorp believes that regular game time will do Mzizi a lot of good as the Chiefs coach rates the youngster highly and believes a season at Celtic with a lot of match practise will evolve him into a good midfielder. Should Mzizi be successful in securing a loan deal at Celtic he won’t be short of company, as he will join up with another Chiefs player currently on loan at Celtic in the form of Ntokozo Sikhakhane.
