Kaizer Chiefs have suffered a blow with the news that Nigerian born striker, Ibe Zito Ogbonna will be out for close to three months after suffering an injury on his right knee.

Kaizer Chiefs mentor, Muhsin Ertugral revealed the sad news to kaizerchiefs.com on Friday morning.

“Zito will be having an operation next week. He has damaged the meniscus in his knee,” revealed the visibly disappointed coach.

“There is no doubt that the team is going to miss his services. He came in and did very well against Free State Stars last weekend and played a part in the goal that Arthur scored. It does look now that he will be out for the rest of the season,” said the Turk.

Ertugral further revealed to kaizerchiefs.com that striker, Abia Nale is doubtful for the game against Bidvest Wits, “Nale had to be substituted last weekend because of injury. Both Siphiwe Tshabalala and Reneilwe Letsholonyane are carrying injuries and we are hoping they will be ready for Wits on Saturday,” he added saying that the side will have to soldier on as the league has not been decided yet.
