Kaizer Chiefs’ Nigerian striker Ibe Zito Ogbonna has told kaizerchiefs.com that he is not reading too much into suggestions that he is a new ‘saviour’ after scoring three goals in three games for Amakhosi this season.

In his debut against Bidvest Wits he netted a brace and an opener against Santos in Cape Town last weekend.

“There is a long way to go,” he told kaizerchiefs.com after the morning training session on Wednesday.

“I have remained calm and focused on my job. I see the response from the supporters as a motivation for me to continue working hard for the team and repay them for the confidence they showed in me.

“I always pray to God every time before I enter the pitch for Him to help me continue throughout the game. It is my duty to score goals but if I score and the team loses it is bad,” he said adding that as a team, they have put the disappointment in Cape Town behind them ahead of the fixture on Sunday.
