The young chiefs team will be participating in the Hong Kong Sevens soccer tournament the younger brother of the more famous Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament played annually in the former British Colony. Along with their coach Donald ‘Ace’ Khuse the youngsters met with some of the Chiefs first team and were afforded some invaluable advice first from former Kaizer Chiefs youth player Gerald Sibeko.

Sibeko who toured East Asia when he was still with Transnet school of excellence added “I told the guys not to underestimate their opponents, players in that part of the world whether they from South Korea, Japan or China look small in stature but in actual fact they are strong and fast. I toured these countries a couple of times and one thing I learnt is that you should never let the size of your opponent put you in a comfort zone, because you will be up for a fall”.

The team will play three group games and should they finish as one of the top two teams in their group the will than qualify for the quarterfinal stage of the tournament, the team is expected to return in a week’s time from Hong Kong.
