“The weather is a good one for us to perform our duties in the best way possible,” says the Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane speaking from the Bafana Bafana camp in Durban.

“The reception from the supporters has been good as always and we appreciate it.”

Bafana Bafana took time off from training in Durban on Monday to pay their last respects to the fallen captain Senzo Meyiwa. ‘Yeye’ comments, “We visited the late Senzo’s (Meyiwa) grave, it was emotional as it was for the first time most of the players came to realise it in reality. It felt like this was still a dream for some of us and maybe we would see him being part of us.”

“At the end all went well and we bid the late Senzo the final farewell. We also went to his home in Umlazi where we spent time with the family,” adds ‘Yeye’.

‘Yeye’ is in the company of his Kaizer Chiefs teammates at the Bafana Bafana camp ahead of their African Nations Cup qualifier match against Sudan on Saturday. Brilliant Khuzwayo, Tefu Mashamaite, Erick Mathoho, and Mandla Masango are also part of the Coach Ephraim Mashaba's squad.

“It is the second time being with Brilliant in the Bafana Bafana camp. He knows most of the guys here. He knows that he is here because of his performance and he deserves to be here. He is working hard at training and there's no sign of him being uncomfortable,” ‘Yeye referred to the arrival of his teammate and goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo for his third call up to Bafana.

“So far, the training sessions are going well, and everyone is working hard. My feeling about this stadium (Moses Mabhida) is that personally, it is like my second home as I always get a good support from the fans here. For Bafana Bafana, it's still part of South Africa and we have always done well whenever we play here. We love to be here and we will work hard to make the whole of South Africa proud,” an inspired and current PSL leading goal scorer with four Premiership goals in the ten outings played so far.

A Soweto born midfield maestro made his Bafana Bafana debut after moving from relegated Jomo Cosmos to Kaizer Chiefs. ‘Yeye’ is on the verge of clocking his 50th cap for Bafana Bafana after he earned his 49th in October 2014. He came on for Masango in the 78th minute when Bafana beat Congo 2-0 in Pointe Noire .

South Africa will qualify for the 2015 finals should they win at the weekend. However, any other result could leave their fate out of their hands and open the door for closest Group A challengers Congo and third-placed Nigeria, who Mashaba's men face in their final game next week.

"I don’t think we can look beyond Sudan on Saturday," he said. "We know it won't be easy, and we're working hard to try and seal qualification this weekend.” ‘Yeye’ told the PSL website.

Bafana will host Sudan at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on today, November 15 (15:00 kick-off). The match will be played in honour of the late Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain and goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa.
