The Kaizer Chiefs legends team rounded off their reconciliation weekend road show with their second consecutive victory in Sunday as they ran out 3-1 winners against a Northern Cape Masters team in Kimberley.

The Amakhosi legends, who were lacking rest after travelling from Mmabatho where they were in action on Saturday to Kimberley, were still able to dazzle the crowds with an outstanding display of football.

The fans who turned up at the Khalashewe Stadium outside Kimberley rolled back the years, as Kaizer Chiefs heroes of yesteryear Doctor Khumalo and Isaac Kungwane pulled the strings in midfield. Doctor and Shakes kept the crow riveted with some sublime passing and bags of tricks that made for an entertaining afternoon, the Chiefs legends did not just put on an exhibition of tricks they had brought their scoring boots along with them. Joe Mabena, Abel Shongwe and David Modise struck as the Chiefs old boys ran away 3-1 victors on a blazing afternoon.

The game also coincided with the sixteen days of activism against the abuse of women and children a project which the Chiefs masters have been advocating for a number of months.

Legends team manager Lucky Staliano explains further “for our team it is important to promote good social behaviour and treating woman and children with respect is the beginning of helping to build a good strong foundation of a family.

As most of our players a respected public figures, they can still help to make a difference in society and we will not just use one game to talk about issues like they say in soccer consistency is the key”.

With that in mind the Chiefs legends allowed women and children in attendance at the game on to the pitch prior to and after kick off to mingle with the team and take pictures and collect autographs.
