Defender, Dominic Isaacs has told kaizerchiefs.com that it is important to get a good start when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns at Soccer City on Saturday, 07 August 2010.

‘Domza’ who is on his third season with the Phefeni Glamour Boys missed the last two editions of the tournament due to different reasons.

“I was still an Ajax (Cape Town) player in August 2008 and I joined Chiefs immediately after the Telkom Charity. Last season, I missed it because of injury,” recalled Isaacs.

“I am glad that I am fit this time around and stand a chance of playing a part in tomorrow’s edition. It is important for one to start with everyone so as to gauge yourself how you compare with other players ahead of the season,”

“This is a Telkom Charity Cup and there is not a lot of emphasis on winning rather on preparing for the upcoming season. It is however difficult when you are at Kaizer Chiefs because winning can be habit here and fans expect that we win all the time...we will go all out on Saturday to make sure that we play in the final. A good start is very important because if we do not win the first game it might put pressure on us,” said Dominic following a two hour session at the Village on Friday morning.

Isaacs is aware that Mamelodi Sundowns can be a threat with the likes of Katlego Mpela firing from all cylinders, “I have played in two games against Sundowns since joining Chiefs and I was never in a losing side against them.

In the first game we played in Durban, I won the ‘Man of the Match’ award and then last year we drew 2 all at Super Stadium. It would be nice to keep that record intact,” he added with a smile.
