A humdinger is waiting to happen when the Amakhosi host the Brazilians in an Absa Premiership clash on Saturday.
Kaizer Chiefs go into the encounter with an upper hand when it comes to head-to-head. With 24 matches played in all competitions since 2004, the Amakhosi have conquered their Tshwane-based outfit 11 times while five games resulted in a stalemate.
Reigning league champions Mamelodi Sundowns have not set the football scene alight so far this season. While Chiefs have already clinched silverware with the MTN8 Cup and topped the Absa Premiership Q-innovation Quarter 1, they have also not lost a league match so far.
The league table shows a Chiefs team that is on form. After ten matches played, the Amakhosi have won nine and have drawn one match. Sundowns have claimed four victories out of ten, drawn four and lost two of their matches this season.
With the Fifa Week still on and with Bafana Bafana having sealed their 2014 Afcon qualification, the fans will be looking forward to the return of the Absa Premiership this coming weekend. The Amakhosi have five players in coach Shakes Mashaba’s Bafana squad, while the Brazilians have only one player.
The tickets for the match are sold at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide. They are sold for R40 and R10 for adults and children respectively.
Kick-off at Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium is at 15:30.
