Vladimir Vermezovic has said that Kaizer Chiefs will have to go out and beat Engen Santos in Cape Town if they are to win the Telkom Knockout in April.

The charismatic Coach was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com following the draw conducted at Wanderers in Johannesburg on Monday morning.

Kaizer Chiefs got the better of Santos the last time the two teams met in the second round of the league game in November.

“This is probably the biggest game in the last 16 draw. Santos gave us problems in our first league game of the season, holding us to a goalless draw at home, although we beat them narrowly away. They are a tough side to play against, but to win the cup it is very important that we beat Santos first,” said Vermezovic.

“We are, of course, looking forward to going to Cape Town, as we have lots of supporters in that province. There is also a possibility that we might play the game at a newly-built stadium in Greenpoint, which will be wonderful. We will be using the young players during Telkom. We want to win the tournament for sure, but we are using the last two tournaments to prepare for the next season as well.”

The Premier Soccer League is yet to confirm the date and venue for the last 16 games.
