We need to improve against Arrows - Vermezovic

Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic has told kaizerchiefs.com that the team will need to “improve” if they are to overcome Golden Arrows on Tuesday and subsequently put up a challenge for the Absa Premiership title.

This was following a disappointing draw on Saturday where the Glamour Boys, who were in total control of the game, threw away a 2-1 lead, allowing Jomo Cosmos to equalise in the 90th minute. It was the second successive draw for the Amakhosi, who drew with Soweto rivals Moroka Swallows, on Wednesday last week.

The draw left Chiefs lying in third position with 43 points after 26 games. They will be looking to return to winning ways when they meet Golden Arrows at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday night.

“If we are going to win the league, we need to improve on the way we defended against Jomo Cosmos. We have had problems at the back for the whole season and we need to correct this, starting on Tuesday when we meet Golden Arrows,” said Vermezovic.

The Coach added that their challenge for the Absa Premiership rests on how the other teams will perform. “I prefer talking about us, but with the result against Jomo Cosmos, for us to win the championship will depend on how other teams perform. Mathematically we are still not out of the race and we are going to continue fighting,” he added.
