The MTN8 quarterfinal fixture will be played at refurbished Orlando Stadium on Tuesday, 04 August 2009. Kick off is at 19h30.
“Our mission is to defend the MTN8 title - but first we have to overcome Wits. We beat them twice last season in the league but that counts for nothing this season,” said Tau.
“It is very important for us to start the season on a high note and what a better way to start than winning the MTN8 trophy. We did well to win last season now the challenge is to defend it.”
Tau said he has put his disappointments towards the end of last season behind and is looking forward having a good season with the Glamour Boys.
“I have resumed full training after getting injured in our last game of the season. I am hopeful that in two weeks I should be fit and available for selection.
I am celebrating my birthday next week Thursday, 23 July 2009 and my wish is for us to beat Orlando Pirates in PE. It would be the best present from my teammates to beat Pirates and meet Manchester City in the final” he said with a smile.
The Kimberly born right-back who received news that he had passed his mid year exams as he pursues Degree in Marketing said he was grateful for the support he received from everyone after going through tough times last season.
“Last Friday I received news that I have passed my exams after what I went through during the period when I was writing. I had just buried my mother and was due to have an operation on my meniscus and I want to thank everyone including the Club who supported me during that period.”
My biggest wish this coming season though, is to win the league. We need to reward our fans who have shown faith in the team by winning them the Premier League’s biggest prize that have eluded us for past couple of seasons,” he concluded.
