We can beat Nigeria - Tshabalala

Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana midfielder, Siphiwe Tshabalala believes Bafana Bafana have what it takes to beat Nigeria at EPRU Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Saturday. Kick off for the game is at 15h00.



The skillful midfielder was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com ahead of a must win 2010 African Cup of Nations/World Cup qualifier.



South Africa is facing an uphill battle as they go all out to qualify for the African Cup of Nations to be held in Angola in 2010. They are currently lying on second position in Group 4 with four points with Nigeria leading the group with twelve points. Bafana’s qualification will also depend on the result of Siera Leone and Equatorial Guinea.



Bafana won this competition in 1996. They went on to qualify for the next five Cup of Nations including Ghana 2008.



Tshabalalala, regular member in Joel Santana’s squad is confident that Bafana will break the hoodoo when the face Nigeria on Saturday. Bafana is yet to beat Nigeria in an official game since they were readmitted to Fifa in 1992.



“We are all very focused on the game. It is a must win for us because we want to go to Angola in 2010. We are not thinking about anything else except a win on Saturday,” he said.



“We have a quality team to match Nigeria. We are also playing at home which is a plus factor for us to win,” added the Soweto-born midfielder.
