Defender, Jeffrey Ntuka has told kaizerchiefs.com that the team is to blame following 4-3 defeat in the hands of University of Pretoria on Saturday night at Super Stadium. The game put an end to Chiefs hope of winning the Nedbank Cup.

It was Glamour Boys’ first defeat at Super Stadium this season having won all the four played in Atteridgeville.

The defeat leaves Amakhosi with only the Absa Premiership to focus on with six games remaining before the end of the season.

“We are all to blame, it is not fair for people to point a finger on one individual,” said Jeffrey on his arrival at the Club’s headquarters in Naturena on Monday morning.

Despite the next game only to take place on the 4th April against Free State Stars, the Glamour Boys were back at work on Monday morning.

“We let ourselves down with that kind of performance. The Chairman, everyone including our fans, is very disappointed. Rightfully so, everyone is disappointed with the defeat. Tuks played well on the night and they should be given credit. For us now we just have to regroup and the sooner we forget about what happened on Saturday, the better,” added the soft spoken defender.

Ntuka’s words were echoed by veteran midfielder, Thabo Mooki who came in as a second half substitute.

“We all have to admit that we did not play well on Saturday night. We need to dust ourselves now and focus on the remaining league games,” said Mooki.
