Mandla Masango has called on Kaizer Chiefs faithful to continue rallying behind the team following a defeat in the hands of first division outfit, FC Cape Town in Bloemfontein on Sunday afternoon.

Masango one of the best players for the Glamour Boys during Telkom Cup campaign was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Monday morning, “I must admit that it is painful to have lost against FC Cape Town and we are all devastated by the loss,” said Masango who came on as a second half substitute on Sunday.

“We were always confident of bouncing back despite being 2-0 down...I also gave my best but it was not good enough,” reflected Masango on a game that saw the Glamour Boys losing for the second successive year against first division sides in the Nedbank Cup.

“This is a lesson for us. Life continues; now our focus is doing much better next season. I cannot say whether we underestimated our opponents on Sunday because as professionals we always go to the field to give our best and we did that on Sunday. At the end, FC Cape Town emerged as winners and I would like to thank our fans who filled the stadium for their support throughout the season,”

The Glamour Boys will take a two day break off and will be back at training on Wednesday.
