Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic expressed his delight in the win that saw the Glamour Boys return to the 2nd spot in the Absa Premiership standings with 29 points.

Kaizer Motaung jnr scored a brace while Jimmy Jambo added another one to help Amakhosi to a 3-1 win against AmaZulu.

“It was important for us to bounce back following a defeat in Cape Town. I am happy with the 3 points but I do not think we played to our usual level,” said Vermezovic.

“AmaZulu also came to FNB to play and they did not come here to park the bus in front of their poles. We also knew that they would use counter attacks. We were quite aware that they would bring a younger side.”

Vermezovic felt that the team missed the tenacity of The General, Tinashe Nengomasha.

“The players like Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Josta Dladla, and Mthokozisi Yende feel comfortable attacking when they know that The General is behind them.

He also protects our back four...he is a key player in this team and we missed him tonight,” he said adding to kaizerchiefs.com that he was delighted that Nengomasha was back against Celtic on Sunday.

However, Chiefs will make the trip without inspirational midfielder, Reneilwe Letsholonyane who picked up his third caution.

“This has been my challenge this season, players picking up unnecessary cards.

We always have to reshuffle things due to yellow cards and this is something that I need to address with my players,” the Coach added.
