Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic has backed Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana winger, Siphiwe Tshabalala to win the Player of the Year Award to be presented at the 3rd Annual SAFA Awards at the Sandton Convention Centre on Friday, 03 December 2010.

Tshabalala has been one of the outstanding players for the team this season scoring and creating a couple of goals for his teammates. Also nominated for the Player of the Year Senior National Team is English Premiership based midfielder, Steven Pienaar and SuperSport United defender, Bongani Khumalo.

“Tshabalala has been one of the key players for Bafana Bafana and scored the most beautiful goal during the World Cup. He should win the award on Friday,” said Head Coach Vermezovic on Wednesday speaking to kaizerchiefs.com.

Meanwhile fans can still vote for Tshabalala’s goal that has been nominated for the Goal of the Year Award on www.fifa.com.

The winner of the FIFA Puskas Award for the ‘best goal’ will be announced in Zurich on 10 January 2011.
