Vodacom Challenge fever infects The Amakhosi!!

the Vodacom Challenge 2008 fever is gripping our Mzantsi shores with prospects of hosting the Premiership League and European Champions League victors, Manchester United a soon to be felt reality.

It is all systems on flight as we scuttle to make the experience worthwhile during our period of rest before the start of the 2008/9-league season. Information coming through to our offices confirms that thousands of Mzantsi-based supporters of the Red Devils have already secured their tickets; something that clearly bothers the entire Amakhosi Family.

May I therefore urge our supporters to pull all stops to secure their tickets so that we meet pound-for-pound, the pride of Europe both on the field and the grandstands of Newlands Stadium in Cape Town. This match would surely draw a lot of attention considering that Manchester United has once felt the pain of losing against us in that epic historic first at the Loftus Stadium in July 2006.

Boasting the likes of Rooney, Ronaldo, Giggs and Tevez, our visitors would surely spare us no mercy except to stage a show that would prove their mettle as true champions in Europe. As for us, we are equal to the task judging from our pre-season preparations and the efforts we are currently putting together to consolidate our team. Surely Newland Stadium on the 19th of July would witness a determined Amakhosi with its youthful and experienced fighters taking central stage to do best against the giants in football history.

May I therefore appeal to our supporters to think about a collective approach of cheering and inspiring our boys to fight for the entire ninety minutes of a pulsating encounter. In addition, it would be gratifying to see our supporters clad in their famous gold and black attire to paint the Newlands Stadium in the known colours of African football on that afternoon.

Whilst the stadium would be ablaze with football passion, our Supporters Crew would be in full force to register members into our Amakhosi Supporters Club. This has become tradition at our games to lure and encourage potential friends to effectively enjoy being part of the bigger family.

As for me, my bags are already packed, my vuvuzela sticks out majestically out of my rucksack and my makarapa has had a face-lift to welcome and pulverise Manchester United in the Cape of Storms!

See you there!!!
