A delegation from the Vaal Triangle Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal) visited Chiefs Village to hand over a present to Kaizer Chiefs Chairman Kaizer Motaung for his recent 70th birthday. The Amakhosi and the university work together when it comes to Sports Science. In the near future there will also be a Chiefs retail shop and an internet café on the campus.

The delegation was led by Vice-Rector Prof Linda du Plessis. She was joined by the Kaizer Chiefs/North-West Project Manager Ederick Stander and NWU Vaal Marketing and Communication Director Warren Makgowe. The present is a framed t-shirt that was signed by all the faculty and support staff of the Vaal Triangle Campus.

“The handover of the signed t-shirt was a gesture of our partnership with Kaizer Chiefs,” reacts KC/North-West Project Manager Stander. “To coincide with the 10th anniversary of the NWU Vaal we made ten signed t-shirts to give to our major stakeholders like the Amakhosi.”

The meeting was also attended by Amakhosi Marketing Director Jessica Motaung. "Our relationship with the North-West University is a special one,” she says. “We are very excited to soon launch the KC Innovation Centre, which will be based at the Vaal Campus. We value their expertise and infrastructure support that enhances our youth development and the senior team.”

“We are also able to tap into University’s resources for academic opportunities,” adds Motaung, “while our supporters will have access to the KC Innovation Centre too. This is all very exciting and it ties into our season's theme of Inspiring Greatness. The KC/North-West relationship has huge potential!"
