The Glamour Boys are now fourth on the Absa Premiership log with 38 points and have seven games to play before the end of the season.

“There seven games to play and the fight for the league title is still on,” Vermezovic said after the game.

“It is a set back to lose against Sundowns but it is not all over for us. Football is a very funny game...we are playing against AmaZulu on Wednesday and we cannot afford to drop our heads,” said Vermezovic addressing the media after the game.

“Congratulations to Mamelodi Sundowns for a win. They have assembled a very good squad and we were fully aware what we were up against. Luck was not on our side as we conceded a goal early in the game. We also gave away lot of ball possession which did not do us any favour. Both teams played wanted to play but it was not possible because of weather conditions.”

Vermezovic defended his decision to use right-back, Lawrence Molekwane in an unfamiliar left back position, “It was not a mistake at all to play Lawrence Molekwane at left back. It is a position he played sometimes at the development. He is a strong player and had done very well at training ahead of the game. He did not have a bad game but looked bit nervous hence we replaced him at half time,” he said.
