Yeye sustained an injury during Vodacom Challenge semifinal clash against Orlando Pirates and was handed his first appearance of the season against Platinum Stars on Tuesday night in Rustenburg.

“There is no doubt about the player’s ability but frankly I do not understand how a player who has hardly featured this season get to be called up to the Bafana Bafana squad,” said Vermezovic speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday morning.

The Serbian also felt the national selectors should have given winger Siphiwe Tshabalala a break.

“I have been in consultation with Bafana Bafana fitness trainer, Francesco over Tshabalala. They did call him and agreed to use him sparingly during the Euro Tour. I am surprised that the player has been called up again to the squad. I feel that he should have been given a rest taking into consideration that the player has just come back from injury,” he added.
