The Glamour Boys were back at training on Monday following an energy sipping encounter against Ajax Cape Town at Orlando Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Amakhosi who played scintillating football created a lot of goal scoring opportunities enough to win the game but odds were stuck against them as they were either wide on came off the woodwork.

“Sometimes you need luck but in football you make your own luck,” said the visibly disappointed Vladimir Vermezovic after the game.

“I must congratulate Ajax Cape Town for once again playing very well. They were very difficult to deal with particularly on a one-on-one basis. That was of course a brilliant goal they scored towards the end,” he said.

“We have been struggling to score goals but today we managed to score three but it does not help when you concede so many goals in the match. We made a lot of mistakes at the back but I don’t like pointing fingers. We must go back to the training ground to rectify our mistakes and be ready for our next game against Bidvest Wits in the same stadium,” he said.

The Serbian also backed goalkeeper, Abel Metsimetsi who conceded three goals in his official debut for the Club, “He is still a good goalkeeper and he did not make mistakes during the game. The goalkeeping department has been hit hard with Khune out for three months and Thela Ngobeni out for two weeks after breaking a bone in his jaw last week,” he said.

Vermezovic also welcomed the return of winger Siphiwe Tshabalala, “His return was something positive that came out of this game. You can see that he is a quality player despite having not kicked a ball for almost two months due to injury,” he concluded.
