Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic paid a glowing tribute to veteran winger Arthur Zwane who partnered Gerald Sibeko in the defeat against Orlando Pirates on Saturday at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Zwane covered every corner of the ground and supplied his front man with quality balls, as compared to running up and down the right wing, something he has done for most of his football career.

The coach addressing a press conference after the game explained his decision to play the man affectionately known as “10111” in the middle of the park as compared to the right wing.

“I think first I have to say that Zwane is a very important player in this team because of the experience he brings on and off the field,” he said.

“At 36 he does not have the same pace he had couple of years ago, but his experience covers for that and we thought that he will give us more when he plays in the middle as compared to the wings. He was very good for us today and proved that he has a lot to offer despite his age,” said Vermezovic.

The game also saw the Serbian giving Kaizer Chiefs Under-19 striker, Lucky “Kaka” Khune his debut, “We might have lost against Orlando Pirates but I believe we have found a player in Lucky Khune. He is young and will continue featuring for the U-19. He is one for the future,” he said with a smile.

Meanwhile, the Serbian told kaizerchiefs.com that he and his charges are looking forward to the MTN8 quarter final fixture against Bidvest Wits on Tuesday night at the Club’s new home ground, Orlando Stadium.

“I do not know a lot about Bidvest Wits but I did see three of their games they played last season. They have brought in something like twelve players this season so they will be different. I am waiting for the Medical Team to know if we do not have any injuries,” he added.
