Head Coach Vladimir Vermezovic told kaizerchiefs.com after the hard fought victory last night against Platinum Stars that he was delighted with the team’s performance that saw them climbing to 8th spot.

“This was a very difficult game from the psychological point of view following a disappointing loss against Maritzburg,” said Vermezovic.

“The players were understandably down after Saturday’s game but they showed that they can fight for points today. The victory is definitely going to go a long way in boosting player’s confidence. This was not an easy game and you can see that we played against a highly tactical side. I am proud of the boys but we cannot rest as we have to travel to Bloemfontein next Wednesday to face Bloemfontein Celtic.”

The Serbian also revealed the decision to leave captain Jimmy Tau behind, “Jimmy had not played for about three months when he played against AmaZulu and then Maritzburg United. I do not think that he is ready at this stage to play three games in a row.”

We must support our players and this is the same with Dominic Isaacs. I am happy that Siphiwe Tshabalala is now coming to the fore also having spent lot of time in the sidelines.
