Chiefs defender Moketi Tsotetsi collected his third yellow card of the season on Wednesday evening during Chiefs two nil away win at Wits, and as a result will now have to miss out on facing SuperSport United on Saturday.

Tsotetsi, who has featured in all three of Chiefs matches since the PSL resumed fixtures around ten days ago, was first booked this season back in August when he faced his former team Cosmos in Durban. He was again booked in December when Chiefs hosted and defeated Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Vodacom Loftus Stadium in Tshwane.

Recovery time

Despite the fact that he has to sit out the SuperSport game through suspension Tsotetsi could well have had to miss the match as he took a knock to his left knee, Chiefs physiotherapist David Milner explains further. “Moketi took a slight knock to the knee and since he is unavailable for the Saturday match, we have the opportunity to ensure that by the start of the new week he is able to start training at full speed again”.

Look ahead

Tsotetsi for his part would like to feature week in and week as it gives him the platform to state his case for a national team call up, having to sit out this weekends match it does give him the opportunity to prepare thoroughly for when The Amakhosi face league leaders Ajax Cape Town next week.

He said “I would like to play as many matches as I can but that obviously can not happen as you do get injuries and suspensions, I will support the guys from the stands on Saturday and have extra time to think about our next game against the team who are playing at the top of their game at the moment Ajax Cape Town”.
