The Amakhosi’s veteran midfielder Thabo Mooki completed his third day back at training on Friday morning without any discomfort as he continues his comeback from a hamstring injury. Mooki nicknamed Tsiki Tsiki by the Kaizer Chiefs faithful injured his hamstring towards the end of Chiefs 2-0 victory over Golden Arrows in an SAA Supa8 game on the 12th August.

The 31-year-old Mooki who turns 32 in October resumed training on Wednesday and has gone through five sessions with out any recurrence of the injury “I feel good, I am moving around without any hassle I am just grateful to be back in training and I am also glad that unlike an injury I picked up earlier in the year I was able to recover fairly quickly this time around” commented Mooki.

Amakhosi coach Ernst Middendorp has been given a boost by Mooki’s return as he begins his preparations next week for Chiefs second PSL game of the season away to Benoni Premier United in Germiston in nine days time. Ernst said of Mooki's return to training, “we introduced him on Wednesday back to training, his done well and obviously I am pleased to have a player of Thabo’s quality back as it opens up our options for us”.

In other injury news goalkeeper Emile Baron went for tests on Thursday and as Chiefs physiotherapist David Milner reveals the road to recovery continues to be a smooth one for Baron.

“The tests showed that Emile has virtually recovered in a physical sense from the operation, he does now need to work on strength training in order to improve the strength on the operated areas. We will continue working with him in the gym to strengthen this area, as to when he will return to full training we have targeted for him to be able to start training with the other goalkeepers within the next six-eight weeks. Obviously we will continue to closely mark his progress and if he needs more time to recover we will allow him that comfort,” added Milner.

Without any competitive action this weekend as it is a weekend set aside by FIFA for international friendly matches, The Amakhosi will be in action in a practise game to be played behind closed doors late Friday Afternoon. In all likelihood coach Ernst Middendorp will afford Thabo Mooki an opportunity to get some much needed match practise as well as allowing for the Midfield Ace to continue with his recovery process as he will try to complete ninety minutes.
