The Management, Players, Staff and Supporters of Kaizer Chiefs are saddened by the untimely death of Conrad Hendriks, who passed on Saturday night.

Conrad rose from the Kaizer Chiefs Under 19 Development side under the mentorship of Rider Mofokeng, after being spotted in 1996. The team was training at the Elkah Stadium in Rockville Soweto and later moved to the RAU Academy that produced the likes of Jabu Pule and Nhlanhla Kubheka; just to mention a few.

In 1999 he was promoted to the Kaizer Chiefs Senior side to deputize for Brian Baloyi. He presented a stiff competition to his counterpart and showed signs of brilliance and maturity every time he was given a chance.

We will remember him as a keen learner and an aspirant competitor who always put a best effort to win the favour of his colleagues and staff in general. Rider describes him as a reserved and a pleasant protégé to work with.

Kaizer Chiefs therefore expresses its heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family. We pray that you seek solace in the soothing arms of a God who is always available to comfort those who are grieved.

May he rest in peace.
