Adding to the celebratory mood was the presentation of the Nedbank Cup trophy, recently won by the Soweto Giants. Employees were given the opportunity to pose with the silverware, sparking a sense of pride among the workforce.

“There was great energy, and thank you to Toyota for organising this event at the plant,” said Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung, “It has been wonderful to visit the thousands of supporters elated to see the team and celebrate the Nedbank Cup victory, and it motivates us as we go into the Toyota Cup this weekend.”

Marketing Manager at Toyota, Khathochelo Mbanda, said the event showcased the synergy between the two brands.

“As Toyota, it’s always important to bring Kaizer Chiefs closer to our employees and us playing the Toyota Cup at Moses Mabhida in Durban, where our plant is based, meant it was important to bring the team here to the plant so that the fans could connect with the everyone involved at the club.”

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko touched down in Durban ahead of the weekend spectacle. The Porcupine Warriors, who were warmly welcomed upon arrival, held a light recovery session in the afternoon as they settled into their new surroundings.
