Kaizer Chiefs technical sponsors Nike earlier this week revealed to the public the new Kaizer Chiefs lifestyle range of products, at a fashion show held at the Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena South of Johannesburg.

The inspiration for the Chiefs lifestyle range came about after Nike designers from the USA travelled the globe searching for inspirational football stories from each continent.

In Africa, they were intrigued by the history of Kaizer Chiefs, and the inception of Diski in townships such as Soweto. As a result these two stories are now being told around the world as part of Nike's 2006 football campaign.

As Nike South Africa’s PR manager Lauren Collier explains the range has found global appeal. "Not only is the product being sold at Nike Concept Stores around South Africa and at Shesha located in the Zone at Rosebank in Johannesburg, but in fashion capitals such as Milan, Paris and London as well," said Collier.

Nike has teamed up with some of the best footballers in the world to help give the products a global appeal. Some of the international soccer heavy weights utilized by Nike in the global advertising campaign for this range include South Korean and Manchester United Ji Sung Park as well as Sweden and Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Pak’s Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo has been used to promote Nikes Diski range.
