Tickets for the mouthwatering MTN 8 semifinal 1st Leg clash between the Amakhosi and their historical foes Orlando Pirates went on sale on Thursday, the match will take place at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on the 11th of September with Kick off for the game at 20:15.

Pirates are the designated home team for the first leg and Chiefs will be the home side for the return leg on Sunday 26th of September.

Kaizer Chiefs director of communications Thebe Mohatle has called on Chiefs fans to ensure they snap up tickets for the game early to avoid disappointment, “these two games against Pirates are crucial for us as we are targeting going all the way in the tournament.

So we appeal to our fans to go out and get the tickets early, we want to dominate the game from the stands as that will translate into us doing a good job on the field of play” explained Mohatle.

In the PSL era Chiefs and Pirates' previous meeting in a two-legged Cup tie came back in the semifinal stage of the 1998/1999 Rothmans Cup competition, Chiefs won the first leg as the home team 3-1 and even though they lost the away leg 1-0, the Amakhosi advanced to the final by winning the tie 3-2 on aggregate.

Tickets for the game are available at Computicket outlets around South Africa and cost R 60 for lower tier tickets while the upper tier tickets are priced at R 40 and juvenile tickets are R 10. The fans of the two teams will be seated in different areas of the stadium, Chiefs fans have been allocated the East and Northern ends of the ground.
