Tickets for the forthcoming fixture between Kaizer Chiefs and Maritzburg United went on sale on Monday, 12 January 2009. The last time the two teams met, the game produced a total of five goals with the Amakhosi coming second best in Durban last September.

The game has been scheduled to take place at Olympia Stadium in Rustenburg on Saturday, 24 January 2009. Kick off for the game is at 20h00.

Kaizer Chiefs Public Relations Manager, Siyabulela Makunga revealed that the game will be used to celebrate the Club’s 39th birthday with the Amakhosi faithful as it is the first home game in 2009.

“We are indebted to our fans and supporters, to make the celebrations of the Kaizer Chiefs’ 39th Anniversary, a memorable event which will leave a legacy we can all be proud of. It is for this reason that we had ensured that tickets are made available on time so as to give our supporters ample time to prepare for this special and fun-filled occasion.

The Amakhosi Supporters Club will be hard at work issuing and renewing Supporters Club cards. More importantly Kaizer Chiefs will demonstrate at the stadium how Kaizer Chiefs supporters and football fanatics can make use of the newly introduced Chiefs Mobi Zone” he said
