Vladimir Vermezovic refused to throw in the towel in the challenge for the Absa Premiership following a thrilling draw at Coca Cola Park on Tuesday night.

The Glamour Boys dominated the game creating quite a number of chances but were unlucky to find the back of the net. They needed to win to close the gap between themselves and log leaders SuperSport United to just three points.

Speaking to the media after the game, the Serbian who held his head high despite the setback paid tribute to his players for ‘giving it all’.

“We dominated the game in both halves and created lot of chances. In the second half we played with more precision and put our opponents under pressure. In the last 15 minutes of the game we should have scored three goals,” said Vermezovic.

The Glamour Boys Head Coach also told the media that the game did not signal the end of the Absa Premiership title challenge with teams having five games to go.

“We wanted to win this game at all costs despite being pleased with the performance of the players, I am not happy with the result. One point can at times make a difference in the championship race. We are not out of it yet and we now have five games to go, 15 points at stake.

I believe there is still a lot of football to be played with other teams challenging strongly for the title coming up against each other on Wednesday night. We are going to fight until the last day,”

He also defended his decision to use Nkosinathi Nhleko as a lone striker up front keeping two strikers Knowledge Musona and Jose Torrealba on the bench.

“We played with only two defensive midfielders, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Tinashe Nengomasha and the rest Abia Nale, Josta Dladla, Siphiwe Tshabalala were offensive. Yeye (Letsholonyane) did come forward a couple of times and should have scored, so I do not believe we were defensive at all. We created enough chances to win the game but luck was not on our side,” he added.
