Goalkeeper Coach Rainer Dinkelacker insisted on Tuesday speaking to kaizerchiefs.com that young goalkeeper; Thela Ngobeni can be key for both club and country in the near future.

The East Rand born goalkeeper was no. 1 for the U20s going to the World Cup in Egypt but an injury on his Premier League debut against SuperSport United and a shoulder injury at the beginning of the current season seem to have slowed his progress.

“Today at training Thela was unbelievable and his attitude will take him far,” said Dinkelacker.

Ngobeni is currently behind Itumeleng Khune and Arthur Bartman but Dinkelacker believes he has a lot to offer, “Olympic qualifiers are just around the corner and I strongly believe that Thela Ngobeni can play a huge role for the country,”

He is working very hard at training and in the near future he will also play a huge role in this Club just like Itumeleng Khune and Arthur Bartman are doing,” said the experienced Goalkeeper Coach.

Dinkelacker also commended the young lad for not dropping his head when he got injured, “The Medical Department did a great job on Thela. He also kept his head up during a difficult time and I kept on talking to him. He is now fit and pushing very hard for a place in the team,” added Dinkelacker.
