Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to consolidate the superior record they have against their Soweto rivals, Orlando Pirates, when the two sides meet at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday, February 20.

Kick-off for the sold-out potential thrill-a-minute fixture is at 3:30pm.

The Glamour Boys, who attacked Aces from the first whistle recently, will be hoping to add on to Orlando Pirates woes, who got a 2-1 drubbing from Maritzburg United on Wednesday.

We put the opposition under a lot of pressure playing a good brand of football. It will be important for the fans at the stadium to enjoy the game. We always go out to play positive football and it will not be different tomorrow,” he said, adding that a win will be important for the fans after they lost out on challenging the Absa Premiership title.

Meanwhile, Executive Chairman Kaizer Motaung dismissed some sections of the media, who have deemed the derby ‘meaningless’ as both teams are not challenging for the Absa Premiership.

“Firstly, besides the focus on the field of play, the derby engages all manner of thoroughly planned and executed logistics prior to its staging. For the players, the derby taps on their mental strength and the adrenalin rush to outperform each other makes it a naturally tense 90 minutes of fun,” he said in his column on Friday.
