Kaizer Chiefs entourage landed in Cape Town this afternoon ahead of the much-anticipated MTN8 fixture against Ajax Cape Town on Saturday, 15 August 2009.

Club supporters in the Western Cape traditionally welcomed the Glamour Boys as they touched down at Cape Town international on Friday afternoon.

Vladimir Vermezovic led the team as the road to defend MTN8 trophy continue with a visit to Cape Town’s Newlands Stadium.

“This is a confirmation that our supporters are our ‘12th player,” reported the delighted Cecil Motaung who had left early to mobilize the branches ahead of the game.

“We have scored our first goal with our supporters arriving, the second goal was the arrival and third goal will be scored tomorrow night at Newlands Stadium,” said Cecil Motaung jokingly.

“Our supporters have been very fantastic and have stood by the team during good and bad times. When the players touched down at Cape Town international, Jeffrey Ntuka went straight to the supporters to greet them and all the players followed suit. Standing and watching that, I became emotional. The players realize that the supporters are a very important component in the success of this team,” added the emotional Motaung.

Chiefs will be hoping to secure a win in Cape Town before welcoming Ajax Cape Town for the second leg to be played at Orlando Stadium on Sunday, 23 August 2009.
