Chairman and Managing Director, Kaizer Motaung joined by Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung attended an Exchange Gift function at the plush Jam Restaurant at the Quarters Hotel in Durban on Tuesday night.

The momentous occasion was also graced by the attendance of Manchester City Executive Chairman, Garry Cook, Sizwe Ndzimande (Nevitude/Cika Hospitality), Romeo Kumalo (Vodacom), Brand De Villiers (Managing Director, SAIL) including Mike Somersby who played for Manchester City when they went to a tour to the United States of America back in 1968.

The two (Kaizer Motaung & Mike Somersby) reminisced the whole evening about the game where Motaung mesmerized the then champions of England First Division.

Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung described the function as warm and intimate, “It was a fabulous event that allowed us an opportunity to reconnect with Manchester City.”

“Executive Chairman, Garry Cook gave a new vision for the club where they are going with new sponsors. It is a very interesting marketing angle that they are taking. We exchange gifts where we gave them a plaque with words, “inspired by the past to ignite the future.”

“The Chairman reminisced with Mike (Somersby) and it was interesting to listen to them walking down memory lane. Our sponsors, Vodacom and SAIL were also there to grace the occasion,” added Motaung.

There will be no love lost though when the two giants meet on Tuesday, 21 July 2009 at Absa Stadium, Durban. Kick off is at 20h00.
