Vodacom Park Bloemfontein. The match will feature the Soweto Giants Kaizer Chiefs and
Orlando Pirates and will be preceded by a 1st Division inland match.
The match will be the culmination of The Doc Khumalo Benefit, which was granted to him
by his beloved Kaizer Chiefs for his service to the club. The Benefit Year has included a
concert, a five a side tournament and a dinner.
Khumalo is delighted that the match will be between Chiefs and Pirates, “It is one
of the biggest derbies in world football and always brings the best out of both teams, the
people of Bloemfontein are in for a real treat and a great day” said Doc, who has
represented Chiefs over 380 times in a glittering career.
The match will begin at 4pm and gates will open at 10am The organizers have appealed to
people to come early as there will be lots of entertainment including music by the Sony
artists.
Tickets are available at the stadium gates on the day of the
match and are R20 for adults and R10 for children.

Event 2: - Banquet
A dinner banquet was held at Caesars in Johannesburg in
November 2001. The Soweto string quartet performed, a very successful auction took place,
Clive Barker and Neil Tovey were guest speakers with Mark Gleeson as the MC. Mr. Motaung
attended along with 250 other guests. A great thank you goes out to Acer and Viceroy for
sponsoring this event.
Event 3: The 5 a side soccer challenge was held at the fields of Marks Park on
the 28th of April 2002. It was a most entertaining day in the sun with over 35 teams
participating. A great thank you goes out to Iwisa for sponsoring this event.
Event 4: The culmination of the benefit will be the long awaited benefit soccer
match between Chiefs and Pirates at Vodacom Park in Bloemfontein. A full house is expected
and this will be a fitting send off to a legend of South African football.
