Reneilwe Letsholonyane has warned his Bafana Bafana teammates that Thailand will not be a ‘walkover’ when the two sides lock horns in an international friendly to be played at the newly-built, awesome Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit this coming weekend.

This is the first of the three games that SAFA has confirmed ahead of the anticipated World Cup opener against Mexico at Soccer City on June 11.

“This is a tough game for us,” Letsholonyane told kaizerchiefs.com, speaking at the team’s base camp in Sandton on Thursday night.

“This is a very crucial stage in our preparations for the World Cup, and in international football you do not get walkovers. The association knows how important these games are, and as a team we are taking our job seriously. It is important that we do not underestimate them, otherwise they will surprise us,” said Yeye.

Letsholonyane believes that the arrival of the likes of Bernard Parker, Benni McCarthy and Rowen Fernandez has boosted the morale of the players in the camp. “It is very important for the guys to be here early and this has really boosted the morale of all the players in the team. Their experience is going to help for sure at this stage of the preparation.”

He added that he is looking forward to playing at the new Mbombela Stadium. “It is such a beautiful stadium and I am really looking forward playing in such a stadium. As a team we will be looking at carrying on where we left off against Jamaica in Germany,” added the dreadlocked midfielder.
