Kaizer Chiefs captain Jimmy Tau insists that the Amakhosi will be thinking about nothing else but their final Absa Premiership encounter of 2010 against Mpumalanga Black Aces on Wednesday evening.

According to the Chiefs skipper the team have placed all thoughts they may have on the upcoming festive break on hold, “we need to go out against Aces and play like we did against Wits.

We are not on holiday yet, it might be Christmas soon but we not looking at giving anything away against Aces. It is essential that we win our final game of the year, psychologically and for our motivation it will mean a lot for us to pick up three points on Wednesday.”

With Chiefs having broken a two game losing streak with a victory over Wits this past, Saturday Tau believes that keeping a clean sheet again will also be on top of their priority list for this game.

“We have the second best defence in the league and we saw at the weekend that we were able to move into third place on goal difference, being able to prevent the opposition from scoring at the one end will give the guys up front motivation and helps them go and get us goals. As I mentioned before, if we do not let in goals it can help our position on the league.”

Chiefs first game in the new year after the PSL has its summer recess will be against current leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and as Tau explains victory over Aces will help Chiefs keep in touch with Sundowns and put them in the right frame of mind when they face Sundowns on January 8.

Tau said “this game is crucial because if we do not win the game we will fall further behind the likes of Sundowns and we seen this past weekend that the competition at the top is getting fierce with Pirates moving into second place. I do believe that should we manage to win against Aces these could prove to be very important points for us.”
