Battle lines have been drawn for the four clubs that will contest for a place in the final of the SAA Supa 8 which is scheduled for October 2 in a venue that is yet to be confirmed.

Wits University and SuperSport United will clash at the Olympia

Park Stadium in Rustenburg on Saturday while Kaizer Chiefs and

Moroka Swallows will meet at Absa Park Stadium in Durban on Sunday.

Three of the four participating teams were represented by their

mentors while PRO of United David Skhosana deputised for Pitso

Mosimane.

Skhosana revealed that pressure from the club's bosses together

with their fans was just too much.

"They want us in the final - period," he said. It is not going

to be that easy and Skhosana concurred that the Students were a

formidable side.

He added that the two clubs did not command huge support but he

urged genuine soccer fans to come and support the contest.

"They will get value for thier money," he promised.

Roger De Sa, who has turned the Students into a feared club

locally, heaped praise on Mosimane and said he hoped their game

would be a good advert for local football.

Chiefs' Ted Dumitru did not say much except that he was

anticipating a humdinger of a Soweto derby.

"We respect Swallows and in fact, the kind of respect that we

always give to all our opponents is our strength," he said.

Swallows lost to Jomo Cosmos via the golden goal rule last year

but Cosmos failed to finish in the top eight bracket, and as a

result the Jomo Sono-led club were unable to defend their trophy.

Gavin Hunt is aware that the Dube Birds will face a club he

referred to as the "Kings of local football" but he is not going to

spend too many sleepless nights worrying about it.

Chiefs are known for their resolve when it comes to Cup games

but it remains to be seen whether the AmaKhosi have learnt their

lesson after blowing the horn and then losing the Vodacom Challenge

Cup to AS Vita Club of the Democratic Republic of Congo few months

back.

Tickets for the two semifinals were available at Computicket

nationwide and are going out for R20.
