Kaizer Chiefs reserves continued their impressive start to 2024 with a 2-0 win over Cape Town Spurs reserves in a DStv Diski Challenge fixture at the Idas Valley stadium in the Western Cape on Sunday.
15-year-old Neo Bohloko gave another indication of his burgeoning talent when he opened the scoring in the 27th minute, before Jeremiah Thanyane doubled the score with a minute left in the first half.
Having lost a man to a red card in the opening period, Spurs posed no threat to Amakhosi after the break and coach Vela Khumalo’s side coasted to a victory that keeps them in fourth place in the standings. With 27 points from 14 matches, five behind the leaders, they remain very much in contention for success
Next up for the Kaizer Chiefs U23s is AmaZulu on 4 February at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Durban, kicking off at 15:00.
