Soweto Derby train travel to the stadium

Metrorail, a division of PRASA, is running special trains to the much anticipated Soweto Derby this coming Saturday, 26 February 2011, when Gauteng’s giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates lock horns.

The two teams are crowd pullers and the streets heading towards the FNB stadium will all be one-way-traffic.



Metrorail will be there ensure safe, affordable and convenient travel withouth the hassle of waiting in traffic. Soccer fans travelling from Soweto to FNB Stadium can purchase return train tickets at a cost of R6.00 and R10.00 for fans from the rest of the Gauteng to FNB Stadium.

Children under 12 years will travel for free. Free and secure parking will be available at our stations for all train ticket holders with tickets sold at our stations on the day of the match.

Soccer fans are advised to ensure they purchase their train tickets on time and to ensure they keep to the set travel times.

Train schedules



Vereeniging:



One train will depart from Vereeniging at 12:00 via: Residentia at 12:37, Stretford at 12:44, Lenz at 13:04, Midway13:09, Kliptown at 13:16, Nancefield at 13:20, Orlando at 13:23, New Canada at 13:28 and Nasrec at 13:39. After the game, the train will depart from Nasrec Station at 18:10.



Naledi:



One train from Naledi at 13:50 via: Ikwezi 14:01, Dube at 14:05, Phomolong at 14:08, New Canada 14:13 and Nasrec at 14:24. After the game, the train will depart Nasrec at 18:20.



Leralla:



One train from Leralla at 11:55 via: Tembisa at 12:01, Kaalfontein at 12:06, Kempton Park at 12:17, Germiston at 12:41, Johannesburg at 13:03, Langlaagte at 13:25 and Nasrec at 13:36. After the game, the train will depart Nasrec Station at 18:40



Daveyton:



One train will depart from Daveyton at 12:25 via: Dunswart at 12:42, Delmore at 12:54; Germiston at 12:58, Johannesburg at 13:21, Langlaagre at 13:32 and Nascrec at 14:00. After the game, the train will depart Nasrec Station at 18:50.



Katlehong:



One train from Kwesine at 12:39 via: Pilot at 12:24, Lindela at 12:45, Katlehong at 12:48, Germiston at 13:12 and Nasrec at 13:50. The train will depart after the game at 19:40.



Springs:



One train from Springs at 12:10 via 12:10, Brakpan at 12:22, Benoni at 12:32, Dunswart at 12:35, Germiston at 12:53, Johannesburg 13:16, Langlaagte at 13:27 and Nasrec at 13:55. The train will depart Nasrec at 19:50.



Mabopane:



One train from Mabopane at 11:35 via: Soshanguve at 11:38, Kopanong at 11:43, Wintersnest at 11:52, Pretoria North at 12:00, Pretoria at 12:23, Oakmoor at 12:49 Kempton Park at 13:04, Germiston at 13:26, Johannesburg at 13:46 and Nasrec at 14:25. The trains will return to Mabopane at 19:10.



Pienaarsport:



One train will depart from Pienaarsport at 11:37 via: Mamelodi-Gardens at 11:45, Eerste-Fabrieke at 11:49, Denneboom at 11:52, Eesterus at 11:56, Koedoespoort at 12:01, Pretoria at 12:18, Oakmoor at 12:44, Kempton Park at 12:59, Germiston at 13:21, Johannesburg at 13:41 and Nasrec at 14:20. The train will return from Nasrec at 19:20.



Johannesburg:



Trains from Johannesburg will run four train shuttle services with the first train departing at 12:00, 12:40, 13:00, 13:19 and 14:29. All trains departing from Johannesburg Park Station will arrive at Nasrec in 39 minutes.

A similar service will be used after the game with the first of four trains departing at 18:00, 18:30, 19:00 and 1930.
