Soweto derby tickets selling like hot cakes - Mafani!

Given the situation with the Castle Premiership log, league defending champions Kaizer Chiefs are upbeat about the turn out of football lovers at the coming Soweto derby showdown on April 30, when they welcome their visitors, Orlando Pirates at Soccer City stadium, such that the normal R20 tickets for adults and R10 for juveniles, are already on sale at Computicket outlets.

“Without any shadow of a doubt, this version of the Soweto derby will be bigger in interest, magnitude and quality of football,” says communications manager at Naturena Putco Mafani.

“We have to comply with all recommended safety and security regulations and leave nothing to chance and if we can, we would love to have the event sold out by midweek leading to Saturday, April 30, 2005.”

Mafani said there has been renewed interest in the pre-booking of seats for the game such that close to 10 000 tickets have already been booked since outlets opened last week.

Soccer lovers in different circles of society have started the debate about what will undoubtedly be the talking point in domestic football.

"What could happen should Pirates win the derby, or what can we expect should Amakhosi win it this time around.”

With these ingredients Mafani says there is no one that will want to see it on telly or listen to the radio because that will not be enough.

Companies or organisations who wish to make block bookings for open stand tickets are welcome but there are very limited VIP/suite tickets for sale and all interested parties should contact Jake Productions on (011) 462-8686, or email info@jakeproductions.com.

Chiefs lost the first round by 1-2 in a thriller that had set the pace for the season so far.
