Siyabulela “Kalusha” Songwiqi has told kaizerchiefs.com that there is more work ahead after joining an array of stars that scored on their debut for the Glamour Boys.

‘Kalusha’, as the player is affectionately known came in as a second half substitute and grabbed his first goal for the Club following a superb pass from Knowledge Musona who had scored earlier in the game.

The Glamour Boys went on to win the game 2-0 against current Absa Premiership champions, SuperSport United.

“I could not sleep on Sunday night,” he told kaizerchiefs.com after training session on Wednesday morning.

“I mean just playing for this Club is a big thing and to score was something special for me. I was even more happy that we won the game as a team and now we are on second spot in the league,” continued Songwiqi.

“The Coach said to me, ‘Kalusha, today you are going to be a hero’, I took those words as a motivation. I am glad that I was able to contribute to the success of the team,”

The Port Elizabeth-born winger also praised the Father above for a memorable debut.

“God is everything to me. I called on Him before stepping into the pitch on Sunday and He gladly answered my prayers.

I will continue working hard at training and if the coach gives me another opportunity even if it’s a minute…I will grab it with both hands,” added the visibly delighted former Bay United winger.
