Kaizer Chiefs attacker Gaston Sirino will return to the starting line-up after coming on as a substitute in the last few matches since recovering from injury. He will be joined in the starting XI by Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, who missed Amakhosi’s previous game.

Amakhosi played against AmaZulu on Tuesday night and the match ended 2-2. Stellies also shared the spoils in their last game when they played to 1-1 draw against a 10-man Sekhukhune United at Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch.

Chiefs were victorious when the two opponents met in the first round, in January, at FNB Stadium, beating the Winelands team 2-1.

The visitors, Chiefs are in fifth position on the log with 22 points after 16 matches, while the hosts, Stellies are seventh with 20 points after playing 13 games.

After making a minimum of six changes the last three outings, coach Nasreddine Nabi has reduced the changes to two when compared to the team that started on Tuesday.

Ditlhokwe replaces Bradley Cross in defence and Sirino comes on for Mduduzi Shabalala up front.

Amakhosi will change back to a 4-3-3 formation for this evening.

Bruce Bvuma is in goal for Chiefs.

At the back, Chiefs have Ditlhokwe on the left, Rushwin Dortley and Inacio Miguel will be in the centre of their defence and Reeve Frosler will run on the right.

The midfield will be comprised of Yusuf Maart, Thabo Cele and Sirino.

On the wings will be Pule Mmodi, on the left, and Glody Lilepo on the right.

Up front, Chiefs have Tashreeq Morris who was involved in one of the goals scored on Tuesday against AmaZulu.

Maart will captain the Chiefs side.

The match officials are referee Luxolo Badi, assistant referees Kgara Mokoena and Jimmy Kgaphola. The fourth official is Msimeleli Mabutho.

Amakhosi’s 17th league match of the season against Stellies will kicks off at 19:30 at Athlone Stadium in the Mother City. The game will be live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations - with regular updates of the match on X (Twitter) @KaizerChiefs.
