Siphiwe Tshabalala will be one of the key players as Bafana Bafana take on Germany this coming Saturday in Leverkusen, Germany on Saturday 5th September and Ireland in Limerick on Tuesday 8th September 2009. Both games form part of the Bafana Bafana preparation ahead of the World Cup to be staged in South Africa next year.

The Club’s ‘Player of the Season 2008/9’ season missed the Bafana Bafana game against Serbia as he was still undergoing rehabilitation on his ankle.

He has now bounced back announcing his return with his first appearance this season for the Glamour Boys with a goal against Ajax Cape Town in a 3 all draw (Chiefs lost on 4-3 aggregate). He was at his best last Sunday as he scored the first penalty before setting up for both Nkosinathi Nhleko and David Mathebula.

Bafana Bafana travel to Germany on Tuesday night without the services of other key players like Itumeleng Khune, Teko Modise and Khetho Sibaya who are all out with injuries but “Shabba” is confident of a positive result.

“We will definitely miss their presence but then again other players have replaced them and we all confident of doing well against both Germany and Ireland,” he said speaking from the team hotel ahead of their departure on Tuesday evening.

Bafana Bafana will be hoping to bounce back from the last month loss in the hands of Serbia, “We want to do well and it will be important that we go all out to win both games. We are expecting both teams to be tough though especially Germany who are bursting with top players and playing in their own backyard.
