Siphiwe Tshabalala has told kaizerchiefs.com that he is delighted to be back from injury that kept him on the sidelines for more than six weeks.

The stylish winger who was one of Bafana Bafana’s best performers during the Confederations Cup in June scored on his first appearance for the Club this season. He will be one of the key members as the Glamour Boys hope to secure their first full points of the season against Bidvest Wits on Wednesday night.

The game will kick off at 19h30.

“It is good to be back on the field having watched from the sidelines since reporting back to the Club in the second week of July. I must say I was very disappointed to start the season with an injury but now all that is over and I am looking forward to another good season with the Club,” said the player affectionately known to his teammates as “Shabba”.

Tshabalala had one of his best seasons for the Club last season and it was not a surprise that he walked away the Club’s biggest prize, ‘Player of the Year’ award. On Sunday he proved his mantle when he came on and tormented Ajax defense and capped his performance with a well-taken goal.

“It was good to score on my return and hopefully I will score more goals this season. I scored six last season which was not bad for a midfielder.”

Shabba is aware that the game against Bidvest Wits is crucial for the Club if they are to challenge for league honors this season.

“We cannot afford to drop more points. We have all put the MTN 8 result behind us and now we are all focused on Bidvest Wits. We are desperate for points,” he concluded.
