The Chairman, Mr Kaizer Motaung, Kaizer Chiefs Family in its totality has paid its heartfelt condolences on the sad news of passing away of Club legend, Moran Khulu. The player, affectionately known in football circles as “Samora” passed away on Wednesday the 7th August 2008, after a long illness at his home Madadeni, Newcastle.

Former Kaizer Chiefs skipper, Ryder Mofokeng who played with Samora Khulu in the 1970s to the early 80s shared some of his fondest memories about the player they use to call ‘ZB’, “Whenever the name Samora Khulu is mentioned, I am reminded of Ellis Park Stadium.

He used to score goals every time we played in Ellis Park, not only ordinary goals but spectacular goals that you will never see today. He was the best striker of the ball I have ever played with during my playing career. Then coach, Joe Frickleton used to call him ‘Zulu Boy’ and we called him ‘ZB’. He will always be in our memories...may his soul rest in piece”

The legendary will be laid to rest at his home, Madadeni in Newcastle on Sunday, 10 August 2008. The service will commence at 09h00, proceed to the local cemetery at 12h00.
