Kaizer Chiefs medical team have confirmed that goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez could be out of action for up to a month after injuring his ankle during the one all draw game against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.

Fernandez fell awkwardly and injured his ankle after making a save from Celtic striker Rotson Kilambe; Chiefs physiotherapist David Milner is hopeful that Fernandez could return to action sooner.

“We looked at his x-ray and if we take the correct steps during his rehabilitation - we could have him back between two to three weeks” added Milner.

Milner also mentioned that defender Fabian McCarthy was doubtful to play in Wednesdays’ behind closed doors PSL game against Black Leopards, after picking up an injury when Chiefs took on Fabians’ former club Bloemfontein Celtic.
